DescriptionMeet Gary Clute, a talented singer/songwriter and recording artist hailing from Las Cruces, New Mexico. Gary discovered his passion for music at a young age, beginning his professional career at just 16 years old by performing at local clubs and colleges and recording records at Golddust Recording Studio in Las Cruces. After attending New Mexico State University, Gary joined the American Corporation of Artists booking agency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, embarking on a tour throughout the Midwest states for several years. Eventually, Gary settled in Nashville, Tennessee, where he continued to hone his craft as a singer, writer, and recording artist. He is a lifetime member of NSAI and a BMI member since the start of his career, with his songs being published by some of Nashville’s top publishers. Gary recorded an album for Cookhouse Records in Minneapolis and several singles for SoundWaves Records in Nashville, receiving accolades in both Billboard and Cashbox music magazines. After retiring from his career as a computer programmer and technical writer, Gary and his wife returned to Las Cruces in 2005, where he continues to pursue his passion for music. Since returning, Gary has completed several impressive musical projects, including the pop-opera/musical 'Too Good', the score and songs for the short movie 'Face Full of Dollars' where Mark Medoff was the executive producer, composed all the songs for “Irene, Just Irene (A Broadway Musical) for book writer/producer Greg LaVoi, and background orchestration and songs for seven-hour-long documentaries produced and directed by Ed Breeding. Gary Clute's musical talent has garnered him recognition, including being a finalist in the 29th Annual New Mexico Music Awards with his song 'One' from 'The Human Effect'. In 2016, his PBS mini-concert was voted one of the year's three 'Best of Year' concerts. Currently, he is collaborating with co-writers from around the world on musical projects ranging from Musicals to contemporary.
